<p>Shawna van Scoyoc is a clinical neuropsychologist who evaluates brain-behavior relationships across all stages of life, from early childhood through older adult. Her work focuses on how thinking, behavior, emotions, and daily functioning are affected by brain development, brain injury, neurological illness, and aging. She specializes in the assessment of a broad range of attention, learning, and neurological disorders, such as ADHD, dyslexia, intellectual disability, concussion, TBI, and psychiatric conditions. &nbsp;She also provides clinical assessment to adults and older adults who are experiencing a range of neuropsychological concerns including neurodegenerative conditions such as dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.</p>



<p>Dr. van Scoyoc earned her doctorate degree in psychology from Rutgers, New Jersey. She completed her APA accredited neuropsychology internship at Rochester Institute of Technology, prior to her two-year post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at Nemours Children’s Health. She earned her master’s degree from the George Washington University in Washington DC and holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Natal in South Africa. She is an active member in numerous local and national professional neuropsychological organizations and a foreign member of the South African Clinical Neuropsychology Association. </p>

<p>Yelena McGraw, PhD, is a clinical neuropsychology postdoctoral fellow with experience in neuropsychological assessment across the lifespan. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and her doctoral degree from Palo Alto University, with a major area of study in clinical neuropsychology. She is passionate about understanding how the brain affects behavior and using this knowledge to support patients throughout their care.</p>



<p>Dr. McGraw’s research interests include understanding how sports-related concussions affect cognitive functioning. Her dissertation examined pediatricians’ knowledge and practices around concussion, highlighting the importance of early recognition and team-based care for youth athletes.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Dr. McGraw completed her predoctoral internship at the UCSD/VA San Diego Psychology Internship Training Program, where she conducted cognitive assessments, provided individual and group therapy, and worked closely with multidisciplinary treatment teams. She has also worked with veterans at the Palo Alto VA Medical Center and contributed to NIH-funded research projects at the University of California, San Francisco, and Stanford University School of Medicine, focusing on genetic and developmental conditions.</p>



<p>Outside of her clinical work, Dr. McGraw is committed to giving back to the community. She has volunteered with local and international organizations, offering mental health support and resources to individuals facing challenging circumstances.</p>

<p>Veronica Chang, PsyD,&nbsp;is a licensed psychologist and neuropsychologist with&nbsp;expertise&nbsp;in attention, executive functioning, and learning. She has extensive experience working with children (ages 5 and up) and adults with ADHD, Autism, and other neurodevelopmental disorders, including learning disabilities. Dr. Chang has a particular interest in the first-time diagnosis of ADHD and/or Autism in adults. She is also skilled in assessing a variety of other neurological and developmental conditions, with special interests in functional neurological disorder and Lyme disease.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Dr. Chang takes a neurodiversity and gender diversity affirming approach to her assessments. Her process is collaborative, focusing on answering the specific questions that led patients to seek an evaluation and providing prognostic information and guiding treatment planning. Dr. Chang is committed to ensuring that her patients leave their assessment with a clear understanding of their next steps and needs.&nbsp;She offers additional consultation and guidance after assessments as needed to support her patients.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Dr. Chang earned her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Northern Virginia, in 2016. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the APA-accredited Mid-Atlantic Internship Consortium at Associated Clinical Services. Dr. Chang completed her Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2021 at the Chesapeake Postdoctoral Neuropsychology Training Consortium, an APPCN member program.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Since beginning her career as a psychology associate in 2008,&nbsp;providing&nbsp;reduced-fee&nbsp;repeat evaluations for college students with ADHD and learning disabilities, Dr. Chang has continually expanded her&nbsp;expertise&nbsp;in ADHD and other neurodevelopmental conditions. During her doctoral training, she gained supervised clinical experience in a neurology practice, conducting assessments and cognitive rehabilitation for adults with ADHD and traumatic brain injury, as well as at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, where she performed inpatient and outpatient evaluations of children and adolescents with neurological conditions. Dr. Chang has eight years of experience as a licensed psychologist and neuropsychologist,&nbsp;during which&nbsp;she provided neuropsychological assessments, supervised neuropsychology fellows, and presented to the neuropsychology team on topics including the neuropsychological assessment of Lyme disease and performance and symptom validity in the assessment of adult ADHD. Dr. Chang is excited to join the experienced and talented team at CAAT, where she looks forward to continuing to provide expert neuropsychological care.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Dr. Will Forbess is a Clinical Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Fellow with experience in neuropsychology assessment and therapy across lifespan. He has experience performing assessments for ADHD, Autism and other neurodevelopmental differences, specific learning disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, traumatic brain injuries, and epilepsy.</p>



<p>Moreover, while working in both outpatient and inpatient treatment, he provided therapy for daily stressors, severe and chronic mental health symptoms, guided clients through coping skills to manage their stressors, and assessed the impact of symptoms on an individual’s daily life.</p>



<p>Dr. Forbess is interested in understanding the whole person and creating targeted recommendations and treatment to reinforce strengths and manage the stressors of psychological diagnoses. He is motivated to help individuals understand themselves, including both barriers and strengths, as they move toward their personal goals. This approach has guided him in providing neuropsychological evaluations, recommendations, and treatment across all age groups.</p>



<p>Dr. Forbes completed his undergraduate education in Behavioral Neuroscience at Center College, a master’s degree from the University of Kentucky in Medical Science, and a master’s and doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Neuropsychology from Adler University.</p>



<p>Dr. Forbess completed pre-internship practica in neuropsychology assessment and cognitive behavioral therapy across lifespan from children to geriatric populations. His predoctoral internship was completed at Larned State Hospital where he performed neuropsychological, psychological, and forensic assessments.</p>



<p>His master’s research investigated the effects of Alzheimer&#8217;s Disease related protein-protein interactions. His doctoral dissertation investigated the effects of ADHD medication on adult sleep disturbances.</p>

<p>Danielle M. Stone, PsyD, LCPC, is a neuropsychology postdoctoral fellow with training in neuropsychological assessment, cognitive rehabilitation, cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), and individual psychotherapy. </p>



<p>She has extensive experience working with adults and the geriatric population conducting neuropsychological evaluations, psychotherapy, and CBT-I for individuals with various neurocognitive diagnoses, including various types of dementia, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, sleep disorders, chronic pain, medical conditions, and psychological diagnoses.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Her research interests include investigating how health factors and nutrition impact cognitive functioning in different neurocognitive diagnoses. Specifically, her dissertation focused on nutrition and the quality of life in individuals diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. </p>



<p>Dr. Stone earned her master’s degree in forensic psychology and her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Washington, D.C. Campus. </p>



<p>She completed a one-year predoctoral internship at the Washington DC VA Medical Center on the neuropsychology track. Additional training included polytrauma neuropsychological evaluations, CBT-I, and psychotherapy in the substance abuse rehabilitation program.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Rachel Schneider, PsyD&nbsp;is a clinical neuropsychologist with training in neuropsychology, school psychology, educational consultation, and psychotherapy. She specializes in providing neuropsychological evaluations to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of neurodevelopmental disabilities such as ADHD, autism, and learning differences. In the context of evaluations, Dr. Schneider emphasizes a collaborative, goal-oriented approach, working closely with families and schools to develop recommendations that optimize each individual’s ability to function most effectively in their environments.</p>



<p>Dr. Schneider earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wesleyan University (Middletown, CT). She earned her master’s and doctorate in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Neuropsychology and School Psychology, from the Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology at Widener University (Chester, PA). Her doctoral dissertation examined the cognitive correlates of comorbid diagnoses in children with ADHD.</p>



<p>During her graduate training, Dr. Schneider completed 3,900 clinical training hours conducting neuropsychological evaluations, psychoeducational assessments, and psychotherapy. Dr. Schneider completed her pre-internship clinical rotations administering evaluations and psychotherapy at an outpatient neuropsychology clinic within a neuroscience and surgery institute, a public middle school in the Philadelphia School District, and in private practice settings.</p>



<p>Dr. Schneider completed her APA-accredited internship consortium at neuropsychology private practices in the Philadelphia area, where she specialized in evaluating children, adolescents, and adults with attention, behavioral, and learning problems as well as cognitive rehabilitation therapy and organizational skills training. <p>Miranda&nbsp;Tompkins, is a  psychology associate and psychometrician and provides assessment services.  She has experience conducting psychological assessments and working with individuals of all ages with attention and behavioral challenges, autism spectrum and related conditions, and developmental disabilities. In addition, she provides coaching in our PEERS® social skills programs.  Ms. Tompkins specializes in working with children and adolescents and has extensive experience supporting youth in athletic settings, including rowing. She’s committed to providing thoughtful, evidence-based care tailored to each individual’s needs. </p>



<p>Ms. Tompkins earned her Master of Psychology from American University and is licensed as a Psychology Associate.</p>

<p>Abigail Brandt, MA, CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist with more than 10 years of experience working with neurodiverse individuals and families. Prior to joining CAAT, Ms. Brandt worked at Children’s National Hospital’s Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders as part of their interdisciplinary team, conducting autism assessments and providing individual and group intervention. Ms. Brandt specializes in understanding higher-order language differences in neurodiverse individuals, specifically supporting the mismatch between neurodiverse communication styles (and neurotypical expectations). She is also involved in clinical work and research using Unstuck and On Target to support the development of executive functioning skills in preschool-age children.</p>



<p>Ms. Brandt’s clinical work focuses on the development of therapeutic supports and diagnostic assessment of neurodiverse and autistic individuals from early childhood to young adulthood. She celebrates neurodiversity in her clinical work and takes a functional, strengths-based approach to assessment and intervention. Ms. Brandt has participated in specialized training, including ADOS-2 administration, SOS Approach to Feeding, Social Thinking: We Thinkers! curriculum, Lindamood-Bell (Talkies &amp; Visualizing/Verbalizing program), and Unstuck and On Target!. She is a Hanen certified speech-language pathologist with training in <em>It Takes Two to Talk</em>, <em>More Than Words</em>, and <em>TalkAbility </em>programs.</p>



<p>Ms. Brandt received her bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University and her master’s degree from George Washington University. She completed a clinical fellowship with the Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders through Children’s National Hospital.</p>

<p>Julia Blasey, Ph.D., is a clinical and school psychologist who provides assessment and therapeutic services for children and adolescents. Dr. Blasey currently conducts psychoeducational and neuropsychological assessments with youth from preschool through college age. She also facilitates therapy groups for school-aged children, including Unstuck and On Target and PEERS® social skills programs.</p>



<p>Dr. Blasey has experience working with youth with a variety of needs including learning disabilities, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum, behavioral challenges, and mental health conditions. Prior to joining CAAT, Dr. Blasey served as a school psychologist with Virginia public schools for five years. Given her extensive knowledge of special education and other school-based supports, Dr. Blasey is passionate about helping families navigate these processes and learn how to best advocate for and support their child’s unique needs.</p>



<p>Dr. Blasey completed a doctoral externship with the Kennedy Krieger Institute focused on behavioral therapy support for children with Autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. She also worked at the University of Maryland Accessibility and Disability Service, providing support to college students with disabilities. Her research interests focus on improving access and use of disability-related accommodations for youth with disabilities.</p>



<p>Dr. Blasey is dually licensed as a clinical and school psychologist. She earned her doctorate degree in school psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park and holds a B.S. in Psychology and Education from Davidson College.</p>

<p>Morgan McNair, Ph.D. is a postdoctoral fellow under the supervision of Dr. David Black. She performs comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults with neurodevelopmental differences or concerns. In addition to conducting evaluations, Dr. McNair facilitates group therapy for elementary-age children. &nbsp;</p>



<p>Dr. McNair has experience working with children and young adults with a variety of needs, including neurodevelopmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, and mental health conditions. Her clinical work is guided by compassionate, client-centered care that aims to implement a collaborative and strengths-based approach to evaluation services and recommendations.</p>



<p>Dr. McNair earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Stony Brook University. During graduate school, she was a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) Fellow, and her research centered around social interaction differences and social problem solving in autistic youth. Dr. McNair completed her doctoral internship at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta/Emory University School of Medicine, where, in addition to comprehensive neurodevelopmental evaluations, she also provided early intervention therapy for neurodiverse young children and their families as well as individual therapy with autistic youth who experienced suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Dr. McNair received her Bachelor of Science from Emory University in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology and completed a two-year post-baccalaureate fellowship at the Yale Child Study Center as a Sara S. Sparrow Fellow in Clinical Neuroscience.</p>
</div>
