Dr. Veronica Chang

SHE/HER/HERS

Clinical Neuropsychologist

Veronica Chang, PsyD, is a licensed psychologist and neuropsychologist with expertise in attention, executive functioning, and learning. She has extensive experience working with children (ages 5 and up) and adults with ADHD, Autism, and other neurodevelopmental disorders, including learning disabilities. Dr. Chang has a particular interest in the first-time diagnosis of ADHD and/or Autism in adults. She is also skilled in assessing a variety of other neurological and developmental conditions, with special interests in functional neurological disorder and Lyme disease.

Dr. Chang takes a neurodiversity and gender diversity affirming approach to her assessments. Her process is collaborative, focusing on answering the specific questions that led patients to seek an evaluation and providing prognostic information and guiding treatment planning. Dr. Chang is committed to ensuring that her patients leave their assessment with a clear understanding of their next steps and needs. She offers additional consultation and guidance after assessments as needed to support her patients.

Dr. Chang earned her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Northern Virginia, in 2016. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the APA-accredited Mid-Atlantic Internship Consortium at Associated Clinical Services. Dr. Chang completed her Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2021 at the Chesapeake Postdoctoral Neuropsychology Training Consortium, an APPCN member program.

Since beginning her career as a psychology associate in 2008, providing reduced-fee repeat evaluations for college students with ADHD and learning disabilities, Dr. Chang has continually expanded her expertise in ADHD and other neurodevelopmental conditions. During her doctoral training, she gained supervised clinical experience in a neurology practice, conducting assessments and cognitive rehabilitation for adults with ADHD and traumatic brain injury, as well as at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, where she performed inpatient and outpatient evaluations of children and adolescents with neurological conditions. Dr. Chang has eight years of experience as a licensed psychologist and neuropsychologist, during which she provided neuropsychological assessments, supervised neuropsychology fellows, and presented to the neuropsychology team on topics including the neuropsychological assessment of Lyme disease and performance and symptom validity in the assessment of adult ADHD. Dr. Chang is excited to join the experienced and talented team at CAAT, where she looks forward to continuing to provide expert neuropsychological care.
