Dr. Shawna van Scoyoc

(SHE/HER/HERS)

Clinical Neuropsychologist

Shawna van Scoyoc is a clinical neuropsychologist who evaluates brain-behavior relationships across all stages of life, from early childhood through older adult. Her work focuses on how thinking, behavior, emotions, and daily functioning are affected by brain development, brain injury, neurological illness, and aging. She specializes in the assessment of a broad range of attention, learning, and neurological disorders, such as ADHD, dyslexia, intellectual disability, concussion, TBI, and psychiatric conditions.  She also provides clinical assessment to adults and older adults who are experiencing a range of neuropsychological concerns including neurodegenerative conditions such as dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

Dr. van Scoyoc earned her doctorate degree in psychology from Rutgers, New Jersey. She completed her APA accredited neuropsychology internship at Rochester Institute of Technology, prior to her two-year post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at Nemours Children’s Health. She earned her master’s degree from the George Washington University in Washington DC and holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Natal in South Africa. She is an active member in numerous local and national professional neuropsychological organizations and a foreign member of the South African Clinical Neuropsychology Association.
