School Psychologist
Marissa McMurray, PhD, is a school psychologist who provides assessment services and specializes in the assessment of pre-school children through college-aged adults. Poised at the intersection between psychology and education, Dr. McMurray is in the perfect position to help families navigate the special education process. She has expertise in complex learning disabilities, attention disorders, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and developmental disabilities. As part of her previous jobs as a school psychologist, Dr. McMurray has served as a Special Education Coordinator, Local Education Agency representative, and as a 504 coordinator. Dr. McMurray enjoys utilizing her expertise to help parents and educators to work together to create effective IEP and 504 plans that promote student growth.
Along with neuropsychological assessment, Dr. McMurray is also a specialist in career assessment, career choice, career planning, and career change. Following her dissertation work, which focused on the person-workplace environment match of graduate students based on Holland Code typology, Dr. McMurray has applied her expertise to neurodiverse individuals. Her approach is highly individualized and strengths-based. Thus, Dr. McMurray draws on one’s unique strengths and needs and integrates that with traditional career assessment tools to provide helpful insight as they develop their career path.
Dr. McMurray earned her doctorate from The University of Maryland, College Park and also holds a Specialist degree in school psychology from Brigham Young University. Dr. McMurray is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and is a member of the National Association of School Psychologists.
